Original Xbox why does it flash red and green when I turn it on?

My original xbox is having problems. When I try to turn it on I just see a green and red light flashing fast. It also sounds like it tries to turn on. Anyone know what he problem is?Original Xbox why does it flash red and green when I turn it on?

Basically check the console is connected correctly. Check its well vented, clean (i.e no dust anywhere) place it somewhere cool. Then try again.

You're all thinking of the 360 RRoD. This is an original XBox, and it's FRAGing.





The FRAG (Flashing Red And Green) error code indicates generic hardware failure. If you were trying to mod it, you broke your XBox: immediately remove the mod chip, check for broken traces or bridged pads, and pray. If not, you have a corrupted BIOS image or damage to the MCPX. If the MCPX is damaged, you're screwed unless you've got some very expensive rework equipment and a spare XBox. If you have a corrupted BIOS image, the console can often be saved by installing a mod chip.
Oh no i had this prob, it's called the Ring Of Death, get in touch with microsoft asap call +442073659792 for microsoft in the uk to speak to an advisor, they'll want serial numbers etc off the back of your box, they'll arrange for your device to be collected free of charge via courrier so get a box ready that will fit the console, they'll then repair the device free of charge and return it within the month with added warrenty, google xbox ring of death on your pc, it's a fault with the hardwear but can be repaired, Hope this helps? PS THEY STILL REPAIR WHEN CONSOLE IS OUT OF WARRENTY EVERYTHING COMES WITH A 5 YR MANUFACTURE GUARANTEE, if goods break or become faulty before this time you're entitled to repair or replacement, GOODS HAVE TO BE FIT FOR THE PURPOSE THEY WERE SOLD UNDER THE TRADES OF GOOD ACT so you're still covered ; )

It's linked to a problem in the power supply IIRC; Try unplugging and re plugging in all components of the power supply to the xbox, otherwise you'll be needing a new one! :)
I think your getting the ';Ring of Death'; which is a manufacturer defects that happened to most of the early batch of consoles. If ur still under warranty then you can still fix it.
Because it needs to be repaired.
